Live and unlearn

“Live and learn.” It’s the cliché we use right after we fuck something up—and, because we’re human, we use it a lot. We all know that humans often learn best by “doing.” But what happens when we realize that a lot of what we’re doing is completely ass-backwards?

I'm a mom, an author, a designer (and many other things, depending on the day.) This blog is mostly my random thoughts - unedited and unfiltered, so read at your own risk.

Random Quote

The useless days will add up to something. The shitty waitressing jobs. The hours writing in your journal. The long meandering walks. The hours reading poetry and story collections and novels and dead people’s diaries and wondering about sex and God and whether you should shave under your arms or not. These things are your becoming.

#bukowski Happy 137th Birthday V. The world is a better place because you were here. #virginiawoolf Public speaking has never been my thing, but I had a great time talking writing to JMS 6th graders today! They kept me on my toes and asked tough questions, but I feel pretty dang good about myself for holding their attention for more than 5 minutes. 😬👍🏻 How Harper feels about a winter storm named in her honor. #cattitude Because sometimes we all just need a little reminder ... Virginia Woolf’s resolutions in 1931 ... pretty sure we could’ve been friends... Draft #1 of Book #3 (Saving Virginia Woolf) is almost done. Stay tuned! (And p.s. ... everyone needs good clothes.) #writerslife
